Severe Weather: The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has placed Stewart, Montgomery, Houston, Humphreys, western Dickson, western Robertson, and western and northern parts of Perry counties in Middle Tennessee under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for today. The primary concern is a low 2 percent of isolated tornadoes. Overall, the severe weather threat remains limited, but residents should stay weather-aware, especially during any stronger storms. Weather Synopsis for Middle Tennessee to include Gallatin and Sumner County: Thursday, becoming cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. A few storms could be strong, producing gusty winds and heavy rainfall. Winds south 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 30 possible. Highs in the low 80’s and overnight lows in the mid 60’s. Friday, partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Winds south 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25. Highs in the mid 80’s and overnight lows in the mid 60’s. Saturday, mostly cloudy with an 80 percent chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Winds south, southwest 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25. Highs in the low 80’s and overnight lows mid 40’s. Sunday, cloudy and cooler with a 70 percent chance of showers before noon. Skies begin to clear during the afternoon and evening. Winds shift northwest 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 15. Highs in the low 60’s and overnight lows in the upper 30’s. Monday, mostly sunny skies. Winds north, northeast 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 15. Highs in the mid 60’s and overnight lows in the low 40’s. Tuesday, mostly sunny skies. Winds north, northeast 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gust up to 15. Highs in the mid 60’s and overnight lows in the low 30’s. Wednesday, mostly sunny skies. Winds shift south 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 15. Highs in the upper 60’s and overnight lows around 50. Highs and Lows for Gallatin and Sumner County: Thursday, 83 & 65, Friday, 84 & 64, Saturday, 81 & 45, Sunday, 62 & 39, Monday, 65 & 41, Tuesday, 65 & 39. Wednesday, 68 & 50. Precipitation totals across Middle Tennessee from Thursday through Friday evening are expected to range from a trace to around 0.20 inches. This forecast is based on guidance from the North American Model – NAM 12-kilometer model, using the total precipitation chart ending Saturday 06Z as a reference.
